The Guest Services Agent is responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient services to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy." Experience like college course work in this related field is very helpful, a high school diploma is required and computer experience is preferred. Flexible and long hours and the ability to stand an entire shift is required. Multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, handling problems in the workplace, showing initiative in job performance and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests are all required. The main things that are necessary to succeed are: approach all associates in an attentive, friendly, and courteous manner, maintain a warm attitude at all times and maintain exemplary teamwork and relationships with coworkers.

Students interning at the San Luis Resort have the option to live in inexpensive housing that is in walking distance from the hotel. For full time employees, health insurance includes vision and dental. Executive staff receives a 401K, and the hourly staff receives the option of a generous discount program. Once an employee, has worked at a location for 90 days, they are given personal days and vacation packages.
Through this internship I was able to learn and grow in the hospitality industry, and my customer service skills and people skills improved exponentially. I also learned how to use multiple computer programs relating to front desk services.
